Who Can Register
In Arizona, you are eligible to register to vote if you are a citizen of the United States, will be 18 years of age on or before the date of the next election following your registration, have not been convicted of a felonly (unless rights have been restored), or have not been adjudicated mentally incompetent.

I Moved
You must be registered to vote at least 29 days before any election. It will be necessary for you to re-register before the 29-day deadline if you wish to change your political party affiliation.

Registration Forms
Registration forms are available at post offices, driver's license

 

locations, libraries, offices of city/town clerks, and many other government offices near you. Election information may be obtained by calling the Maricopa County Elections Department at 602/506-1511 or by writing to 111 South 3rd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003-2294. You may also download the registration form by accessing the Maricopa County Recorder's website - www.recorder.maricopa.gov or register online at www.servicearizona.com.

Arizona is an Open Primary State
Arizona law permits you to indicate or decline political affiliation when registering. Arizona is now an Open Primary state. A voter who is not registered in a recognized political party may choose

 

ballot of his or her choice at the Primary Election. In the General Election all candidates are on the ballot and you may vote your choice. This option does not apply to the Presidential Preference Election in February.

Voter Registration Card
You will receive a voter identification card from the Elections Department within 30 days after receipt of your voter registration form which will indicate your precinct name and other jurisdictional districts.

Sample Ballot
For each election, a sample ballot is sent to each household. It will list candidates and measures to be voted on at the election.


Polls Open
The polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Your Polling Site
The address of your polling site will be printed on the address label of your sample ballot. If you need further information about your polling site or directions, please access our website at www.recorder.maricopa.gov for mapping or location information

Early Voting
Call Maricopa County Elections Department at 602/506-1511, and you will be provided information about requirements for requesting an early ballot. An early ballot enables a qualified elector to vote for the candidates and/or issues prior to the official election day. Qualified electors are not required

 

to give a reason for voting early.

Early voting may be done in person at the County Recorder’s 3 offices or at any of the county satellites. Early ballots may be mailed to your residence by submitting a request in writing to the Maricopa County Elections Department, by using our website: www.recorder.maricopa.gov, or by calling 602/506-1511.


Voter Assistance
You may also write to the Maricopa County Elections Department if you are interested in learning about special services available to assist voters who are homebound and unable to go to their polling place on election day.

Board Workers
As a qualified elector you may

  serve as a board worker at a polling site on election day, as well as serve in other capacities on the election day. The Elections Department is always looking for people to help with early voting processing, other processing boards, and workers at the polls on election day.
