STATEMENT ON USPS MAIL BALLOT DELIVERY DELAYS

PHOENIX, AZ — The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office previously advised voters that the large volume of ballots and recent operational changes at the U.S. Postal Service could result in delays in mail ballot delivery.

On Wednesday, October 7, approximately 1.9 million early ballots were delivered to USPS for distribution. Our office began receiving its first batch of returned mail ballots yesterday, October 13. We are aware that some voters have not yet received their ballots.

We remain in communication with USPS and will continue closely monitoring delivery progress.

Voters who requested a mail ballot but have not received it by the end of this week are strongly encouraged to contact the Recorder’s Office to request a replacement ballot.

Alternatively, voters also have the option to vote in-person at Vote Center locations throughout the county.  You can find a vote center location near you at locations.maricopa.vote.

To request a replacement ballot, voters can call the Recorder’s Office at 602-506-1511 or visit request.maricopa.vote. The deadline to request a replacement ballot by mail is October 23, 2026.

Our priority is ensuring every eligible voter receives their ballot and has the opportunity to cast their vote.
