Maricopa County Recorder’s Office Completes Oversight of General Election Early Voting Location Operations

(PHOENIX, AZ) – The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office will conclude its administrative oversight of 2026 General Election early voting locations tonight at 7:00 p.m.

As early voting ends, the Recorder’s Office will continue its additional critical responsibilities, including signature verification of returned early ballot affidavit envelopes, contacting voters whose signatures do not match registration records, and processing provisional ballots in accordance with Arizona law.

Voters who used the ID Verify “Stamp and Go” process at an Early Voting Center will bypass the traditional signature verification process because they verified their identity in person when they returned their ballot.

Going forward, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors’ Elections Department has oversight of all Emergency Voting and Election Day operations, including Vote Centers, secure ballot drop boxes, polling place staff, on-site ID Verify tabulation, and all voting equipment, including printers and scanners.
