Goodyear and Glendale to Hold All-Mail 
Jurisdictional Election on May 20, 2025

PHOENIX, AZ – Goodyear and Glendale, Arizona residents will have a special all-mail election on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. This jurisdictional election will be conducted entirely by mail, with ballots automatically sent to all eligible voters regardless of Active Early Voting List (AEVL) status.

VOTER INFORMATION

All eligible voters registered in Goodyear and Glendale will automatically receive a ballot by mail. 

Eligible UOCAVA (military and oversea) registered voters can expect their ballots to be sent no later than April 5, 2025, which is 45 days before the election date.

Residents are encouraged to verify their registration status and ensure their information is up to date by visiting BeBallotReady.Vote. Through this online voter dashboard, eligible voters can:

  • Check their voter registration status
  • View a sample ballot
  • Track the status of their mail ballot

REGISTRATION AND UPDATES

The last day to register for the jurisdictional election is April 21, 2025. Residents who are not yet registered to vote can do so by visiting AZMVDnow.gov.

Already registered voters should double-check their status at BeBallotReady.Vote to verify or update their information.

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP AND RESIDENCY

Federal-only voters are not eligible to participate in jurisdictional elections. In order to participate, a federal-only voter must provide documented proof of citizenship (DPOC) and/or documented proof of residency (DPOR) on or before 7:00 pm on Election Day. Voters can easily send acceptable documentation via email to [email protected] or may provide documentation in person to the Recorder’s Office at 301 W Jefferson, 2nd floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003. 

Acceptable documentary proof of citizenship includes: 

  • Valid Arizona Driver License or Non-Operator ID card 
  • Legible copy of US Birth Certificate
  • Legible copy of US Passport.
  • Legible copy of Tribal Enrollment card or Tribal Card Number
  • Legible copy of US Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate Number

Acceptable documents for proof of residency must include the voter’s name and residence address (not an exhaustive list):

  • Utility bill
  • Bank or credit union statement
  • Valid Arizona vehicle registration
  • Arizona vehicle insurance card
  • Lease agreement

TEMPORARY ADDRESS AND MOVING INFORMATION

USPS does not forward official election material, including ballots. If you are out of town during the May 20 jurisdictional election, please email [email protected] or call 602-506-1511 to provide a temporary mailing address. The Maricopa County Recorder's Office will mail your ballot to your requested address. Ballots must be received by 7:00 pm on Election Day. Postmarks do not count.

If you have moved since the last election, update your address at AZMVDNow.Gov.

BALLOT RETURN OPTIONS

As this is an all-mail election, there will be no vote centers provided. Voters can return their completed ballots by:

  • U.S. Mail (postage pre-paid)
  • Designated drop box locations
  • Ballot replacement sites

KEY DATES AND INFORMATION

  • Election Date: May 20, 2025 
  • Voter Registration Deadline: April 21, 2025 
  • Military & Oversea Ballots Mailed: No later than April 5, 2025 (45 days before the election) 
  • Regular Voter Ballots Mailed: April 23, 2025 (27 days before the election) 
  • Last Day to Request Replacement Ballot by Mail: May 9, 2025, by 5 pm 
  • Last Day to Mail Back Ballot: May 13, 2025 (so that it is received by 7 pm on Election Day)

All ballots must be received by 7:00 PM on Election Day, May 20, 2025.
